Marcelona

The name Marcelona is composed of the catalan words MAR-sea, CEL-sky and ONA-wave and it is a clear tribute to the city of Barcelona, flanked by the Mediterranean sea.

A city always in movement, cosmopolitan and tolerant, which was beautified by the famous architect Gaudí with his masterpieces. His iconic “trencadís”, pieces of ceramic, can be appreciated on the labels of our wines.

There is a singular anecdote about this architectural bone technique: Gaudí went to the workshop of Lluís Brú and when he saw how he put the pieces, he grabbed a tile and a pot and breaking it exclaimed: “A handful have to be put, otherwise we will never finish”.
